There’s a hot new list of hairdressers to watch out for – the Wella Professionals TrendVision Award 2023 finalists. The iconic competition with an incredible heritage has become known as one of the most spectacular events in the hairdressing calendar, and we are absolutely thrilled to share that we have four members of our talented team heading to the final!
WHAT IS WELLA TRENDIVSION AWARD?
Hosted by Wella Professionals, TrendVision Award is one of the most exciting and prestigious industry competitions; it celebrates the exceptional talent in the hairdressing industry and has become a truly iconic hair competition. For many previous winners, this is the first step towards truly unleashing their creative career.
Each one of our team were tasked to create a hair look for their chosen category, which was judged by a prestigious panel of highly experienced and respected industry experts… and here’s who made it to the final!
REGIS TRENDVISION AWARD 2023 FINALISTS
Paolo Silveri
Salon: Regis Birmingham
Category: Colour Visionary
Inspiration: “To create this beautiful and wearable look I've been inspired by the combination of the 70's feathered look with bangs and the 80's mullet that we can see on catwalks at the moment - but with a more polished and inspiring feel - worn by this amazing gender fluid/nonbinary model. Winning for me is another milestone in my career, especially the Wella Professionals Trendvision Award because it is one of the biggest competitions in the UK. It will give me the opportunity to share my creativity and skills with others, and to improve and bring my skill to the next level.”

Category: Colour Visionary
Inspiration: “My inspiration came from marble. The intricate movement of colour with the texture of earth and the smoothness of the marble really gave me the inspo to create this marbleised, wearable look. I’ve entered this for over a decade and to win this accolade would be a pinnacle in my career.”

Inspiration: “My concept comes from the iconic Manchester Bee symbol, with a unique black and yellow design. My choice to incorporate these elements reflects a connection to the city’s identity and values.”

Jak Johnston
Salon: Regis Gateshead
Category: Xposure Creative Colour
Inspiration: “My inspiration came from the fact most of my colour work in the salon is colour corrections and lifting hair, so I wanted to show my ability to lift hair and achieve pastel and pearly tones. Winning would be absolutely amazing and would show all the hard work to get to this point. Hairdressing is the only job I’ve ever done from the age of 15. It’s the only thing I’ve saw myself doing as a profession. Even getting through to the final and getting to work with these fantastic hairdressers and see the beautiful work by other contestants has been a great experience and I’ve learnt a lot in the process.”

Our finalists will now compete at the UK & Ireland Final in September. The main awards ceremony will take place on 25th September 2023, where all winners will be announced (fingers crossed we’re included!).
The lavish event will take place at MAGAZINE, LONDON where an audience exceeding 700 is expected to celebrate the winners and runners-up.
